Giving Zakat Al-Fitr or Fitrana) for the day of Eid was a practice of the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam, and has been ordained for us all. Like Zakat, it establishes the bonds of unity between the rich and poor.
To cover the various ahadith mentioning the different commodities pertaining to Zakat Al-Fitr
‘The Prophet ﷺ declared the payment of Sadaqatul Fitr as obligatory; it purifies the fasting person from any indecent act or speech, and is a source of feeding the poor.’
Every person eligible to pay any of these amounts must pay not only for himself but also for his dependants, such as his children. If after knowing the Shari’i amount a person wishes to give more, then he can do so inshaAllah.
Donation Deadline: 18th April.
Asharaf Union Trust will distribute your Zakat Al-Fitr to poor families for Eid day inshaAllah.
